Horrorshow - A Turning Point in Iced Earth Legacy

Image
Introduction In this post, I talk about the music of Horror Show and the lineup changes that followed. This album marked the end of the classic Matt Barlow era, the beginning and end of the Ripper Owens era, and the eventual return — and second exit — of Matt. It’s one of the most important transition points in Iced Earth history. I also have my video from YouTube as you scroll down. Horror Show Turns 25 Years Old On this day 25 years ago, Iced Earth released Horror Show , a full concept album based on classic monsters and horror film icons. Matt Barlow’s voice is incredible on this album — layered, powerful, and dramatic. This album marked the debut of Richard Christy on drums and the only studio appearance of Steve DiGiorgio, who didn’t tour with the band but is known for his work with Testament and Megadeth. What made Horror Show unique is that it featured more of Matt’s writing than usual, since Jon Schaffer typically wrote the majority of Iced Earth’s music. My favorite tr...

Corporate Wrestling Is Ruining Wrestling

Introduction The problem with modern wrestling is that it's too corporate. As in it's all about the business. The in-ring stuff doesn't feel real and feels like it's not believable. I also talk about it in my video below. WWE is missing something? It's missing something and someone like The Rock or Austin. They could go big places with Roman, but they keep him in just a wrestling mode instead of letting be the real person. Same with Brock and using him on the farm or using like Dom and Rey as a real person storyline instead of a wrestling match. Because we all know Dom is stale and stuck as a heel in the Judgment Day. Is Wrestling Too Corporate? But WWE doesn't do that. It's all staged, scripted, polished and all about PR. Which looking at PR, it's feels like Nick Khan lying to cover their ass or TKO screwing up a storyline because someone on ESPN is a bigger name in their mind. But doesn't hold a meaning to the storyline like Ted Dibaise Jr. or ...

Update on TNA Cut Ties with Two Stars

Introduction In this post, I discuss a few more details from what I got since yesterday on Tessa's exit from TNA. As well another release with Sami Callihan. I did hear a rumor about who could end up in TNA creative team. I do share a video version below as you read. Tessa Blanchard - Why She Left I have an update on why Tessa Blanchard left TNA Wrestling. Looks like TNA wouldn't let her wrestle in both CMLL and TNA. Which Tessa last wrestled in CMLL On April 24th. Tessa is also a former TNA world champion and the first woman to do so. Also, a former Knockout Champion. I don't really follow CMLL but good to see CMLL is working out for her. I just hope when the time is right that she ends up in either WWE or AEW. Sami Callihan Release from TNA As far as more releases go, Sami Callihan was released. He was a former world champion too and the leader of OVE. Which his last match was on August 15th at Emergency losing to Santana. Sami retired after that match ending a 20-year ...

TNA Cuts Ties With TWO Stars — Is Something Happen?

Introduction In this post, I talk about two exits from TNA wrestling of Tommy Dreamer and Tessa Blanchard. I also talk about could TNA sell or a change in creative. I do have a video from my YouTube channel, rjmetal93, at the bottom. Tommy Dreamer Parting Ways With TNA So, Tommy Dreamer and TNA have parted ways because of the change in creative. Tommy has been with TNA since around 2018, and he wasn’t just another guy backstage — he was part of creative, booking, and talent relations. Letting Tommy go is a big deal for TNA simply because of where he was positioned in the company. Tommy’s booking hasn’t been viewed as strong lately. Some talent liked working with him, but others noticed his booking was declining. At the end of the day, TNA is a business, and the ECW‑style booking Tommy leans on just doesn’t work for modern TV. Could TNA Sell? Some people think this means TNA might be preparing to sell, and honestly, it’s a “what if” situation. If TNA did sell, anyone could buy i...
