Review Alter Bridge’s New Self-Titled Album 2026

 


Introduction

I will listen to the album of Alter Bridge self-titled album of Alter Bridge that came out on January 9th of 2026, for the first time and give my honest opinion on what I like or dislike if I do, the lyrics that grab me, and what I think of each song. Also, which one is my favorite and top 3 favorite tracks. What the song starts like and what I think of each track by track as I listen. So, let's go!

Album Review

  1. Silent Divide - Starts out super heavy as an opener. I like this one a lot. The lyrics that grab me are Stop before it starts, Step aside. You play the part. Feels like someone in your way, trying to take you down for doing what you love. You can't be around them. The song is good opener and a great rock song by Alter Bridge.

  2. Rue the day - Starts out rocking and heavy. I like the lyrics of Breath it in Breath it out. It's up to you. Stand your ground. Don't let him get his way. Feels like someone trying to overrule you and this person will rue the day. Sounds like a great song which I like this song and has a rock out vibe from Alter Bridge.

  3. Power Down - Starts out super heavy like a rock out song. The lyrics I like are Stop for a minute, take a little bit of time. Pushed to the limit. You're only burning out. Feels like telling you to stop grinding and enjoy the moment. Like take a moment to enjoy your life. After listening to the whole album, this is my favorite song on here because it feels like it relates to me. A good touching rock song from Alter Bridge.

  4. Trust in Me - Starts out rocking for the whole song and sounds good. Telling you what others do get ahead but telling you to put your trust in me. Talking about betrayal and saying to trust me. Like no matter what put your trust in me. The chorus lyrics of put your hand in mine till the day is done is pretty good. Another good one by Alter Bridge.

  5. Disregarded - Start out rocking and a little slow. Sound like getting betrayed but never seeing it. Like being left in the dark with no one to turn to. We all been there. Turns into a heavy rock song. The lyrics of don't want to play the victim but who can you trust?

  6. Tested and Able - Start out heavy. The song overall is not bad, I like it and sounds like putting trust into the wrong person and going back and revisited that person. The chorus of you were lost and then gained for. You were tested and able.

  7. What Lies Within - Opens up rocking. This song isn't bad. I like the lyrics of what lies within, beneath the skin and please don't forget again. As well as release the anger of old. Songs feels like it's about holding onto something that should be released like anger.

  8. Hang By A thread - Feels like a slow acoustic song. I like this song. Lyrics that I like are hanging by a thread, you can't keep a good man down. It's time for me to stand on my crown. The meaning feels like it's about having enough and making a stand. Shows some emotion in the music if you listen closely. This is another one of my favorites off of the album.

  9. Scales are Falling - Starts out slow then goes into a rocking style. I like this one too. Lyrics I like are of Scales are falling father, from my eyes wide other is there no way to stop her? Scales are falling. Sounds like the song is about dealing with anger and a broken heart.

  10. Playing Aces - This song is rocking and heavy. Another great song I like on this album. The lyrics I like are If I waste it all, I hope you understand. I had to play my hand. Bad luck be damned. This song sounds like dealing with bad luck no matter what you do.

  11. What Are You Waiting For - starts out rocking and heavy. The lyrics I like are what are you waiting for? tell it to my face. You're just a coward scorned. A pond the other race. Tell me this anymore. You're anger misspaced. This song feels like it's about anger and losing it. A good heavy song and I like it.

  12. Slave to Master - Starts out slow with some soft singing, then goes into rocking. The song length is long like 9 Minutes. I like this song too. I like the lyrics of This is out of control so where we go. Oh, where do we go. This Song feels like slave or person overpowering the master and taking over. Like seeing what it becomes over time.

    My top 3 favorite songs are Power Down, Silent Divide, and Hang by a Thread.

    On a scale of 1 to 10? I would give it a 9.

    Closing Thoughts

    After giving the album a listen, I must say it is pretty good. Myles voice sounds incredible. The band chemistry. Every song is either not bad or awesome from listening to the album the first time. I would recommend giving this album a listen to. Definitely a good start to the year for Alter Bridge. Which their music has always been pretty good and never disappoints like this album.
