Jim Ross Says Vince Was Jealous — Here’s What I Think

 Introduction

Jim Ross says Vince McMahon was jealous of him.
I don’t buy that.

This wasn’t about jealousy — it was about style.

JR came from southern wrestling.
Emotion, realism, letting moments breathe.

Vince wanted something different.
Controlled language. Corporate tone. Commentators as narrators, not personalities.

That’s why Vince preferred people like Michael Cole.
Not because Cole was better — but because he fit the WWE system Vince was building.

JR didn’t need scripts.
Vince needed control.

So, when JR talks about jealousy, I think it’s really frustration —
because the product moved away from what he represented.

My question to you?

Was Vince wrong for changing styles —
or did WWE lose something when it moved away from JR’s approach?

Feel free to let me know in the comments!
